Duo Guitiano is formed by guitarist Carlos Castilla and Cuban pianist Amanda Virelles. Both started their artistic careers as soloists, finishing bachelor, master and doctoral degrees from important conservatories and universities in Cuba, Colombia, Russia and the United States.
With an attractive proposal, Duo Guitiano specializes in the repertoire originally written for this instrumental setting, from 19th century to the present day, including some of the greatest concert pieces of the most important guitar masters of all times. In their path, they have rescued forgotten scores from the golden age of the guitar/piano duo, bringing to life again the tradition of this peculiar ensemble.
